Charlottetown Yacht Club (CYC) will be hosting the 2016 Sail Canada Sail East Championships from July 21-24 in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island (PEI). CYC is located on one of the most scenic points of the Charlottetown waterfront, with a panoramic view of the Harbour. It has been four years since the Sail East Championship was hosted in PEI. This year’s event will be a four-day affair: two training days and two racing days. Sailors will be competing in the 29er, 420, Laser, Laser Radial, Laser 4.7, and Optimist classes. Full Report.

(June 22, 2016; Day 2) – The luxury of New York is now a fading memory after a wind shift in the Atlantic Ocean delivered an early challenge for the fleet competing in the Clipper Round the World Yacht Race. Team focus and concentration is put to the test in fruity conditions as an exhausting number of spinnaker drops, hoists and peels have been required to keep up with the changing weather and try to stay with the pack. Despite early challenges, the miles continue to fall away as the fleet continues its drag race to the Scoring Gate. Full Report.

The 635-mile Newport Bermuda Race started on June 17, commencing the 50th edition and the 90th anniversary of the partnership of the organizers, the Cruising Club of America and Royal Bermuda Yacht Club.
